I use it at work a lot. Its not fancy by any stretch of the imagination, but it works.

The Wikipedia article I linked to claims that 7-zip has problems decompressing some ZIP files. Have you ever had any such problems, or do you know what they are talking about?

I can't say that I ever recall any problems with it. I've been using it regularly for over a year now.

I unzip stuff from macs, PCs, linux and unix systems in 7-zip. I've yet to have a problem with it. Not saying it doesn't exist, just that I've never had it happen to me.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll dl both 7-zip and Winrar and see which I like better in terms of the GUI.

Winrar prolly has the better GUI, of course, its also nagware eventually. Most people can get past that, though.

Throwing in my support for 7zip. Cygwin's archive support is good also, but in your case it'd be cracking a nut with a trash compacter.
