Argh, I forgot that there are some dialects where they rhyme. For me 'tour' rhymes with 'boor' and 'four' rhymes with 'door'. Unless 'boor' and 'door' also rhyme for you ...

Unfortunately, they do, but now you come to mention it I have met people for whom they didn't.

Ah well, I think that no one will pick the third response anyway. As long as there is no one for whom 'hour' and 'tour' rhyme, it'll all work out.

Out of curiosity:
1) How do you pronounce the cycling race, 'Tour de France'?
2) How do you pronounce 'amour'?
3) Are there any 'our' words that rhyme with 'amour' for you?

Assuming I'm speaking English,

1) to rhyme with four
2) to rhyme with four
3) four, pour, tour, your.

If I was speaking French I would use a different vowel and a different "r", of course.

a different "r"

...er, different from not pronouncing it at all, yes. :)

If I may hop in, perhaps a closer rhyme for "tour" in English is "lure".

I think "boor" is the only one in that list that doesn't rhyme to me. It's the only one that has an actual "oo" sound (forgive the lack of actual phonetic markings) in it when I say it.
