Thanks for that link. I've always pronounced the word to rhyme with "furry," which isn't mentioned in that etymology bit. The article asks, "Why does bury rhyme with berry and not with jury?" I doubt anyone rhymes the word with jury any more, but I don't think my pronunciation is so rare as all that. Or is it? I suppose it'll all come out in the poll.

Well, I agree it is a bit confusing, but only because they don't mention that for a lot of people, jury and furry rhyme - they say 'JUR-ree' instead of 'JOOR-ree' or something like it. It might be interesting to know whether for some people, 'bury' and 'furry' rhyme, but 'jury' is separate, or whether for others, all three rhyme. So maybe I can't actually do a poll on 'bury' without also including 'jury'.
